Surfing the Eisbach River, Munich

Munich is famous for one thing that is rare to find anywhere else in Germany – river surfing.

I went down to the English Garden and found the manmade river wave known as Eisbach. While most Eisbach surfers are local, many people come from around the world to surf this wave. My friend Chad had that at the top of his Munich to-do list. We found a surf shop called Santo Loco and they were more than happy to let him borrow a board and a wetsuit. (It’s nice to be a Californian surfer in Munich)

Check out some of the pics from Chad’s surf session.
